SKIN.SCAN - 5 steps to a personal color.code

In collaboration with SIKKENS and Stylepark
2001

Based on the concept of ‘architecture as third skin’ and with the use of a new technology called colorspektrogram (SIKKENS), the individual human skin color can be scanned and translated into a coloridentical architectural surface. The ‘individual color’ of the wall (‘customized wall color’) is the individual skin complexion of a person who lives in the apartment (individual complexion). The scanned skin color is transformed into ACC-color code und can be output as rgb, cymk or RAL-number. With a critical view on increasing dataveillance of our body due to questions of security and logistics like finger prints, eye scans and DNA tests, the personal complexion will become an operational tool for the creation of individual spaces.
